CAKE Amsterdam is Zoe Elizabeth Gottehrer. Zoe was born and raised in New York City and has been working as a professional cook and baker in The Netherlands since 2002. She was the baker at Small World Catering for 5+ years! She began working as a professional cake artists in 2007 and worked as Manager of Production and Head Cake Artist at Sweet Things, a specialty cake shop in Utrecht, The Netherlands from September 2008 - October 2010. Now, on her own she hopes to change the face of the Dutch specialty cake market with her wildly creative approach of presenting cake as stunning works of ART that ALSO taste divine! Though not classically trained as a pastry chef, Zoe is the 3rd generation of American home bakers, beginning with her Grandmother Louise. Zoe has a BFA from Syracuse University's School of Visual Arts and worked as a layout/graphic designer and in the music industry before finding her true artistic outlet in the medium of cake.
